Job Summary

Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Language Arts instruction aligned with state standards and diocesan guidelines
- Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and writing (narrative, informational, and argumentative)
- Select and teach age-appropriate literature, including novels, short stories, poetry, and nonfiction
- Encourage critical thinking through discussion, writing assignments, and projects
- Absess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on data
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Integrate Catholic values and teachings into lessons where appropriate
- Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment rooted in respect and responsibility
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty meetings and school initiatives
- Support and participate in the faith life of the school (e.g., Mass, prayer services, retreats)
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (middle school or secondary ELA preferred; requirements vary by diocese)
- Experience teaching or working with middle school students
- Strong knowledge of literacy instruction and writing development
