Secondary English Language Arts teachers facilitate learning that develops students' critical reading and analysis of diverse, complex texts, strengthening connections between themselves, others, and the world. Learning experiences emphasize academic and creative writing for authentic purposes and audiences, as well as effective speaking skills through dialogue, evidence-based discussions, and audience communication. Ongoing formative assessment and timely feedback support student growth in these critical literacy skills.

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S. degree.
• Holds or is eligible for a Minnesota State Licensure in Communication Arts/Literature or English Language Arts.
• Commitment to the equitable education of all students.
• Creative planning and organizational skills.
• Highly effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to implement the responsibilities outlined in the position overview.

Qualifications

• Excellence in collaboration with colleagues and enthusiasm for working with students.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, such as graduate-level work, an earned degree, or participation in professional organization conferences or seminars related to the content area.
• Experience working with diverse learners (preferred).

Pay

$53,228–$107,781 per school year. Placement determined based on experience and qualifications. Salary is pro-rated based on start date.
