Middle School ELA

Core Requirements

• Practicing Roman Catholic candidates are preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
• Maine teacher certification (or eligibility) with appropriate endorsement for middle school ELA.
• Strong background in literacy instruction, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary development.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to collaboration with colleagues and ongoing professional growth.

Preferred Qualities

• Passion for literature and writing instruction at the middle school level.
• Ability to foster critical thinking, discussion, and a love of reading.
• Interest in or openness to a classical approach to education, including the use of rich texts and writing across the curriculum.
• Willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school community.
