Middle High School Teacher

About the role
We are seeking a part-time middle/high school teacher to teach Biology and General Science in a classical and Catholic classroom at our Brookfield, CT location for the 2026-2027 academic year. Classes meet Mondays and Thursdays from 1:15 pm to 3:15 pm. Tutors must prepare for classes at home, follow and implement provided lesson plans, and teach in a highly structured Socratic environment. Childcare/nursery is provided for staff.
Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction in Biology and General Science according to Regina Caeli Academy’s classical Catholic curriculum
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a traditional student/teacher relationship
- Prepare lessons at home and arrive ready to teach each Monday and Thursday
- Follow provided curriculum and grading guidelines
- Complete background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching
Requirements
- Deep love for and daily practice of the Catholic faith, including reception of all sacraments appropriate to your state in life
- Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness
- Willingness to attend three days of training on August 10, 11, and 12, 2026 (8 am–5 pm; no childcare provided, nursing babies welcome)
- Undergraduate degree (teaching certification or formal teaching experience not required)
Qualifications
The ideal applicant may have experience in any of the following, though none are required:
- Homeschooling or working with homeschool children
- Ministry in a Catholic parish
- Teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes
- Teaching your own children
- Teaching in a classical or private school

Regina Caeli Academy is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition. Operating nationally, RCA provides instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting two days a week. The academy’s mission is to form classically educated young men and women according to the unbroken tradition and teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, the Ignatian Principles of Education, and the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius.
