High School Middle School Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a Catholic part-time High School/Middle School teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom at our center in Sykesville, MD. Classes may include Math, Language Arts, and Religion. You do not need a teaching certification nor formal teaching experience to apply; we will teach you everything you need to know.

Regina Caeli Academy is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition that offers instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Childcare/nursery is provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for classes at home and teach in a highly structured environment
• Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards (curriculum and grading guidelines are provided)
• Uphold a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship

Requirements

• Deep love for the Catholic faith and ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to your state in life
• Knowledge of Latin (preferred but not required)
• Experience homeschooling, working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching your own children, or teaching in a classical or private school (preferred but not required)
• Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or equivalent
• Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness
• Clear background check and completion of RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching

Schedule

• Mondays and Thursdays, 9:25 am – 4:00 pm
• No additional vacation days (accommodations made for sick days as needed)
