Position Overview Chelsea Academy invites applications for a full-time Upper School teaching position combining History and English for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will teach courses in both disciplines and contribute to the vibrant intellectual and spiritual life of the school. Teaching Responsibilities History & English Courses:6th Grade History7th Grade History10th Grade Medieval European History10th Grade Composition and Medieval Literature11th Grade Early Modern and Modern European History Qualifications A practicing Catholic in good standing with a deep commitment to the mission and identity of Chelsea Academy. Bachelor's degree in History, English or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Strong background in both humanities and English, with the ability to integrate disciplines within a liberal arts framework. Commitment to the vision, mission, and Catholic identity of Chelsea Academy Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills Enthusiasm for mentoring students and participating in the broader life of the school. A love of teaching and learning rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition. Ability to inspire students to think critically, reason logically, and appreciate the unity of truth across disciplines. Willingness to engage in the spiritual, cultural, and extracurricular life of the Academy, including retreats, service projects, and community events. Ability to be flexible in a smaller-school environment. Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work as a team player with teachers and staff. Ability to plan strategically and maintain a focus on results. Ability to partner and create relationships with parents and community members. Ability to enforce policies with charity and empathy. Willingness to engage with students and work with them during activities and events. Enthusiasm for working with young learners and fostering a love of learning. Dedication to fostering virtue, curiosity, and moral responsibility in students. About The Curriculum And Culture Chelsea Academy's curriculum is designed to cultivate wisdom and virtue through a rigorous and integrated liberal arts education. History courses emphasize the study of human civilization, the development of Western culture, and the moral lessons drawn from the past. English courses emphasize the close reading of great works of literature in the light of truth, beauty, and goodness, cultivating clear and persuasive writing, thoughtful discussion, moral imagination, and an appreciation for the enduring insights of the Western intellectual and Christian traditions. Faculty members are expected to model the school's core virtues of faith, hope, charity, prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance and to guide students toward intellectual excellence and moral maturity.
