About the Role

The position involves working individually or with a small team of Welders, Fabricators, Designers, Engineers, and Mechanics to execute customer projects across motorsports, automotive, defense, and commercial industries. The welder/fabricator will layout and fabricate metal weldments and assemblies based on work orders, drawings, specifications, or verbal instructions. The role requires exercising judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals while meeting deadlines and documenting progress. Flexibility, dependability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in both MIG and TIG welding of thin gauge (.035”-.125”) aluminum, stainless steel, and steel.
  • Operate hand tools, shop machines, and hydraulic brake presses.
  • Understand and interpret complicated blueprints.
  • Interface with other departments to accomplish tasks.
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.
  • Rig and move heavy structures.
  • Check own work and ensure quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of welding/layout experience.
  • Fabricator skills including complicated layouts, shrinkage calculations, and check & straighten capability.
  • Ability to direct a project.
  • Own tools appropriate to the job.
  • Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Team player with attention to detail and strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Reliable with excellent work ethics and pride in workmanship.
  • Mechanical ability and enjoys working with hands.
  • Physically fit to handle demanding tasks.
  • 40-hour work week with overtime paid as worked; 6:30 AM start time.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate fixed deadlines.
  • Some travel may be required.
