About the Role

CDM Smith is seeking a Water Resources Engineer with experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of stormwater systems for a diverse portfolio of local and regional clients. The ideal candidate will have 7 or more years of relevant experience, a Professional Engineering (PE) license, and the ability to perform GIS analyses, hydraulic calculations, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, data analysis, and report writing. Field work and on-site evaluations may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Apply expert knowledge in civil stormwater design and permitting.
  • Utilize engineering principles of design, including hydraulics for technical work.
  • Develop grading plans in CAD (desirable but not required).
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of HEC-RAS and GIS software and practices.
  • Perform data analysis and report writing.
  • Use Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.) proficiently.
  • Apply solid knowledge of support tools such as mathematical models and scripting languages.
  • Travel domestically and/or internationally as required (10% or less).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Coastal, or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of HEC-RAS and GIS software and practices.
  • Proficiency in developing grading plans in CAD (desirable but not required).
  • Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
  • Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics for technical work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of support tools such as mathematical models and scripting languages.

Pay

Pay range: USD $95,846.00 – $167,731.00. This range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. Salary is determined by factors including role, function, responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and education/training.

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
