Mid-Level Technology & Data Associate Attorney

The Role

As part of a collaborative and highly regarded team, your work will include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of technology agreements, including software licensing, SaaS, cloud services, development, reseller, outsourcing, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Advising clients on privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection issues arising in commercial and technology transactions.
• Drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, data sharing agreements, and other privacy-related documentation.
• Providing strategic advice on compliance with U.S. and international privacy laws, including GDPR, UK GDPR, HIPAA, and evolving state privacy regulations.
• Counseling clients on privacy compliance programs, data governance, cross-border data transfers, vendor management, and information governance.
• Assisting clients with cybersecurity incidents, regulatory investigations, and data breach response.
• Advising on legal issues relating to artificial intelligence, online platforms, digital advertising, cookies, tracking technologies, and other emerging technologies.
• Supporting mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions involving significant technology or data assets.
• Working closely with multidisciplinary teams across corporate, regulatory, litigation, healthcare, financial services, and employment practices.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3–5 years of experience in technology transactions, data privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or a combination of these practice areas within a law firm.
• Strong experience negotiating complex commercial technology agreements.
• A solid understanding of U.S. and international privacy and data protection laws.
• Experience identifying and managing privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory risks in commercial transactions.
• Exposure to technology-related aspects of M&A, outsourcing, financing, or strategic transactions is highly desirable.
• Exceptional drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• The ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while building trusted client relationships.
• An interest in emerging technologies and the practical application of AI-assisted legal tools.

Candidates must hold a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, must have previous experience working in a law firm, and must be admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
