About the role

This organization, a well-established player in manufacturing and enterprise operations, is seeking a Mid-Level Systems & Network Administrator to join its team in Lancaster, South Carolina (onsite, 5 days/week)—just 30 minutes outside of Charlotte.

Responsibilities

  • 50% Systems Administration (servers, virtualization, patching, system performance)
  • 30% Networking Support (assisting network operations, monitoring network health)
  • 20% Infrastructure Projects (IAM transition, virtualization migration, automation)
  • 40% Monitoring system and network health; responding to performance issues
  • 30% Supporting and maintaining server infrastructure, including patching and updates
  • 20% Project work (Nutanix migration, IAM tooling changes, process improvements)
  • 10% Escalated support issues (limited ticket-based work)

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional IT experience in systems administration and/or infrastructure support
  • Hands-on experience working with Windows Server environments and enterprise systems (not just account provisioning or helpdesk tasks)
  • Foundational networking knowledge (LAN/WAN, switches, routing basics) and ability to support network health alongside systems
  • Experience monitoring server and network performance and troubleshooting infrastructure issues
  • Familiarity with server patching processes and automation tools (e.g., NinjaOne or similar)
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware or Nutanix
  • Understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM) concepts and tools
  • Associate’s degree required

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience supporting or implementing Nutanix environments
  • Exposure to IAM tools such as Ping or alternatives
  • Experience working in environments with separate helpdesk/support tiers
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across both infrastructure and networking layers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and proactively improve system performance
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a small team environment
