Job Overview
A leading national law firm seeks a mid-level transactional associate to join its Sports Practice Group. The role involves advising on a wide range of commercial agreements and strategic transactions in professional sports, entertainment, and live events.
Responsibilities
- Advise on sponsorship and partnership agreements
- Represent clients in naming rights deals
- Negotiate media rights arrangements
- Draft and negotiate merchandising agreements
- Manage venue operations and development agreements
- Handle premium seating and hospitality agreements
- Work on licensing matters
- Support franchise transactions
- Engage in strategic joint ventures
Requirements
- JD required
- Must have prior experience working in a law firm
- 4–5 years of transactional legal experience
- Direct experience handling sports-related commercial transactions preferred
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Experience with sponsorship, licensing, media rights, venue operations, or franchise-related transactions is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational, communication, and client-management skills
- Strong academic credentials and transactional drafting ability
- Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the candidate is based
- JD required
