Mid-Level Mariner Instructor

About the role

The Mid-Level Mariner Instructor is responsible for teaching navigation, seamanship, and safety skills to aspiring mariners. This position requires a strong background in maritime operations and a passion for marine education.

Responsibilities

• Teach navigation, seamanship, and safety skills to students
• Develop and implement training programs tailored to different levels of experience
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Ensure all training activities comply with regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Science, Maritime Studies, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience as a Mariner or equivalent
• Valid US Merchant Mariner Credential (SMC)
• Excellent communication and teaching skills

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with maritime software tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
