About the role

The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level Industrial Security Specialist to join the team in Berkeley, MO. This position will serve as the Special Access Program (SAP) Policy specialist for the Boeing Enterprise Classified Security (ECS) Governance, Risk, and Compliance team. Responsibilities include providing expert-level input to the development, implementation, and effectiveness assessment of company policies in support of U.S. government security requirements, engaging with SAP agencies to understand new or changed policies, advocating for the company’s interests, and ensuring compliance across the company’s SAP portfolio. The role requires an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance and recent, extensive experience supporting SAP programs, engaging with U.S. government SAP agencies, interpreting and applying SAP policy, writing local or other policy, and communicating with senior government or industry leaders on matters of national security. The successful candidate will have either active SAP access or current SAP eligibility under DOD auspice.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with internal security controls through compliance assessment reviews and self-inspections to ensure compliance with government and company regulations/requirements; identifies deficiencies and recommends corrective action
  • Assists with administrative inquiries (e.g., collects and analyzes data, writes reports, and interviews personnel) on personnel, processes, and situations to determine level and scope of non-compliance with government and company regulations/requirements
  • Assists with Communications Security (COMSEC) duties and responsibilities
  • Assists in the protection of government, intellectual, third-party, and company information from unauthorized disclosures
  • Performs personnel security processes to assist in obtaining individual security clearances/accesses
  • Assists in developing and conducting security awareness training and education programs to educate, refresh, and motivate personnel to protect people, property, and information
  • Assists in physical security duties and responsibilities within Boeing facilities to ensure compliance with company and government regulations/requirements
  • Assists in subcontractor management to ensure compliance with government regulations/requirements

Requirements

  • Successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), by the federal government within the last 5 years, or have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial security
  • Willing and able to travel domestically 10% of the time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Experience working with Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) and DoD security policy/directives
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to executive leadership
