Mid-Level DevSecOps Project Manager

The Opportunity

The DevSecOps Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and oversight of DevSecOps operations supporting a federal customer. This individual serves as a liaison between government stakeholders and technical delivery teams, helping ensure DevSecOps services are delivered in accordance with project objectives, service level agreements, and operational requirements. The ideal candidate has approximately 2–5 years of experience supporting DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or CI/CD pipeline operations and is comfortable working across both technical and project management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and oversight of DevSecOps activities across software development and operational environments.
• Monitor contractor performance and help ensure DevOps services meet established SLAs, KPIs, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to support CI/CD pipeline operations, cloud infrastructure, application deployments, and production support activities.
• Track operational issues, corrective action plans, incident resolution efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in system modernization, operational improvement, and technology enhancement projects.
• Support oversight of DevSecOps technologies including source control, build automation, deployment pipelines, container platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
• Assist with monitoring platform reliability, observability, system health, performance, and resilience.
• Help coordinate security, patch management, software installation, system maintenance, and operational readiness activities.
• Support documentation efforts including runbooks, operational procedures, knowledge bases, and technical standards.
• Facilitate meetings with government stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to communicate project status and operational priorities.
• Prepare project updates, executive briefings, metrics, dashboards, and operational reports.
• Collaborate with security and engineering teams to support federal compliance requirements, including RMF, ATO, and continuous authorization activities.
• Utilize Jira and Confluence to manage work, track deliverables, and maintain project documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Active Public Trust clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• 2–5 years of experience supporting DevSecOps, DevOps, cloud engineering, systems engineering, or technical project management.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with source control systems including Git and modern branching strategies.
• Experience working in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Basic understanding of container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ArgoCD, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps concepts including automated testing, release management, deployment pipelines, and software lifecycle management.
• Understanding of application security, vulnerability management, or software supply chain security principles.
• Familiarity with federal cybersecurity concepts such as RMF, ATO, or continuous monitoring.
• Experience supporting incident management, root cause analysis, operational reporting, or service management activities.
• Experience using Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and government customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government IT programs.
• Experience monitoring vendor or contractor performance.
• Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), observability platforms, or operational monitoring.
• Experience with security scanning tools such as Checkmarx, Prisma Cloud, or similar products.
• Agile, Scrum, Azure, Kubernetes (CKA/CKS), or other technical certifications.
• PMP certification is a plus but not required.

Compensation

This role is budgeted at an annual salary of $100,000-$110,000, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, PTO, and partial 401(k) match.
