  • Perform structural steel design, stress analysis, load‑path evaluation, gear‑train assessments, and rehabilitation planning.
  • Partner with clients to develop innovative conveyance and reservoir storage solutions that meet community and regional priorities.
  • Navigate regulatory and permitting requirements for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR), and FERC.
  • Engage stakeholders—including tribal nations, local organizations, and resource agencies—to balance technical excellence with environmental stewardship and community needs.
  • Support business development efforts and may serve as Project Engineer, Design Manager, or Client Sales Lead.
  • Mentor staff, shape project strategies, and drive technical excellence across the Northwest, California, and global dam communities of practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Familiarity with USACE, USBR, FERC, and industry guidance related to dams, hydropower facilities, and hydraulic steel structures.
  • Experience performing structural steel design and stress analysis for hydraulic steel structures, including gates, stop logs, bulkheads, lifting systems, and associated operating equipment.
  • Proven track record in technical work and/or design management for complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Professional Engineering license in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho (or ability to obtain within six months).
  • Strong technical and project background in large water impoundment and diversion design, monitoring, and rehabilitation (preferred).
  • Established relationships with regional clients and consulting partners in the Northwest (preferred).
  • Experience with FERC licensing and other regulatory requirements (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and to engage stakeholders on environmental and community considerations.
  • Recognized by clients as a trusted partner with solid knowledge of hydraulics and reservoir facility design and planning.
  • Passion for market growth through client engagement and mentoring emerging talent.

  • 401(k) plan with company matching.
  • Ability to purchase company stock at a discount.
  • Unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) for full‑time salaried/exempt employees.
  • Seven paid holidays and caregiver leave.
  • Eligibility for deferred compensation plans, Executive Deferral Plan, merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and additional stock awards.
