About the role

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP), a top Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a highly motivated and exceptionally qualified mid-level associate (4–7 years of experience) to join its nationally recognized Litigation & Disputes Practice Group, with a focus on class actions and mass torts. This position is open to candidates in any of the firm’s U.S. offices.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the defense of complex class action and mass tort matters in state and federal courts
  • Manage and support all phases of litigation, including:
    • Pleadings and motion practice
    • Fact and expert discovery
    • Depositions (taking and defending)
    • Class certification briefing and strategy
    • Trial preparation and trial support
    • Appellate briefing and support
  • Collaborate closely with partners and clients on litigation strategy and case management
  • Interface directly with clients and contribute to strategic decision-making

Qualifications

  • Federal circuit court clerkship and/or Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) experience
  • 4–7 years of complex litigation experience within a big law firm setting, including fact and expert witness deposition experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting trial teams in state or federal jury trials
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Able to take ownership of assignments and assume a high degree of responsibility
  • Client-service mindset with the ability to manage client engagements effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach
