About the role
Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP), a top Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a highly motivated and exceptionally qualified mid-level associate (4–7 years of experience) to join its nationally recognized Litigation & Disputes Practice Group, with a focus on class actions and mass torts. This position is open to candidates in any of the firm’s U.S. offices.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the defense of complex class action and mass tort matters in state and federal courts
- Manage and support all phases of litigation, including:
- Pleadings and motion practice
- Fact and expert discovery
- Depositions (taking and defending)
- Class certification briefing and strategy
- Trial preparation and trial support
- Appellate briefing and support
- Collaborate closely with partners and clients on litigation strategy and case management
- Interface directly with clients and contribute to strategic decision-making
Qualifications
- Federal circuit court clerkship and/or Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) experience
- 4–7 years of complex litigation experience within a big law firm setting, including fact and expert witness deposition experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting trial teams in state or federal jury trials
- Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Able to take ownership of assignments and assume a high degree of responsibility
- Client-service mindset with the ability to manage client engagements effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach
