Mid-Level Associate – Financial Institutions

About the role

A prestigious global law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate (2+ years PQE) to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in New York. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-value mergers, acquisitions, and reinsurance transactions involving domestic and international financial institutions, insurance companies, and reinsurers.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising financial institutions and insurers on acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, reinsurance, and capital-raising transactions
• Drafting and reviewing regulatory filings, disclosure schedules, board resolutions, and corporate consents
• Conducting due diligence (buy-side and sell-side) and preparing diligence reports
• Drafting and analyzing transaction agreements, public filings (including current reports and proxy statements)
• Liaising with clients, counterparties, and regulators throughout all phases of transactions

Who You Are

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent; LLM a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of corporate transactional experience at a leading law firm
• Experience advising financial institutions, including insurers and reinsurers, on corporate transactions
• Strong background in insurance regulatory matters, filings, and compliance
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills
• Admitted to the New York Bar

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $260,000 – $310,000 (DOE, New York market range)
