Mid-Atlantic Management Consulting Lead
About the role
The Management Consulting Lead position within HDR's Mid-Atlantic Water Business Group is dedicated to providing strategic management and planning, business process optimization, organizational development, digital advisory, and equity, rates, finance, and funding services. This role collaborates with HDR staff across the company and teaming partners to deliver high-quality services and projects.
Responsibilities
- Pursue, plan, manage, and deliver utility management advisory projects.
- Lead the growth of HDR's management consulting services in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Collaborate with HDR technical leaders, operations leaders, market sector directors, project managers, and project teams to ensure world-class service delivery.
- Engage with local project teams, assist in Go/No-Go discussions, project risk assessments, SOQs, proposals, interviews, and negotiations.
- Participate in client relationship management, client presentations, conference presentations, and interviews.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Provide project delivery support including planning, contract administration, technical consulting, design reviews, subcontract management, and construction services.
- Participate in AWWA or WEF and related regional professional associations.
- Mentor and develop other employees.
Requirements
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations.
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field.
- 10+ years of water industry experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Strong leadership skills and project management experience.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Conceptual, organizational, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and conferencing platforms.
- Familiarity with estimating and scheduling software, project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration degree.
- 15 years of water industry experience.
- Experience managing projects, client relationships, proposal development, and business development related to Strategic Management and Planning; Business Process Optimization; Organizational Development; Digital Advisory; Equity, and Rates, Finance, and Funding.
- Strong self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills.
- Active engagement in professional or industry associations.
- Current AWWA or WEF and related regional professional association involvement.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. For example, in Fulton, MD, the range is $162,855 - $232,650, while in Washington, DC, it ranges from $177,660 - $253,800.
