Mid-Atlantic Management Consulting Lead
About the role
The Management Consulting Lead position within HDR's Mid-Atlantic Water Business Group is dedicated to providing strategic management and planning, business process optimization, organizational development, digital advisory, equity, rates, finance, and funding services. This role collaborates with HDR staff across the company and teaming partners to deliver high-quality services and solutions for clients.
Responsibilities
- Pursue, plan, manage, and deliver all aspects of utility management advisory projects.
- Lead the growth of HDR's management consulting services in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Collaborate with HDR technical leaders, operations leaders, market sector directors, project managers, and project teams to ensure the delivery of world-class services.
- Engage with local project teams and assist in Go/No-Go discussions, project risk assessments, SOQs, proposals, interviews, and negotiations.
- Participate in client relationship management, client presentations, conference presentations, and interviews.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Provide project delivery support including planning, contract administration, technical consulting, design reviews, subcontract management, and construction services.
- Participate in AWWA or WEF and related regional professional associations.
- Mentor and develop other employees.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field.
- 10 years of experience in the water industry.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Strong leadership skills and project management experience with multiple national remote teams.
- Proven experience managing projects, client relationships, proposal development, and business development related to Strategic Management and Planning; Business Process Optimization; Organizational Development; Digital Advisory; Equity, and Rates, Finance, and Funding.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Conceptual, organizational, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and conferencing platforms (Zoom, WebEx, Teams, etc.).
- Familiarity with estimating and scheduling software, project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
- Master of Business Administration degree.
- 15 years of water industry experience.
- Strong self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills.
- Current AWWA or WEF and related regional professional association involvement.
- Local candidates preferred.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. Fulton, MD: $162,855 - $232,650. Washington, DC: $177,660 - $253,800.
