About the role

Praescient Analytics is seeking a Senior Microsoft System Administrator to support the Data Capabilities Division (DCD) - Intelligence and Automation Operations (IAO). The role involves leading the identification and resolution of hardware and software issues to maintain a 99% system availability rate for critical Army intelligence missions.

Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance: Perform daily administration and maintenance of over 40 Windows-based server checks, recording all findings in the DCD Systems Administration Daily Checks list.
  • Security & Compliance: Apply the latest DISA STIGs to all Windows Servers and features within 30 days of release. Address ACAS findings by applying security updates and hotfixes within 14 days of notification.
  • Performance Monitoring: Provide detailed system matrices covering utilization, uptime, and storage availability. Use PowerShell and other scripting languages to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Application Deployment: Deploy DCD-developed, COTS, and GOTS applications to production and staging environments within two business days of a request.
  • Availability Management: Ensure 99% availability for approximately 20 Microsoft IIS websites hosted across five networks.
  • Incident Response: Notify the Government of unscheduled outages within 30 minutes. Provide after-hours on-site support, responding to malfunctions within two hours of notification.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Act as a team leader to assign and review tasks, set priorities, and mentor junior personnel on proper technical procedures.

Requirements

  • Total Experience: At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in server administration, including managing servers in a production environment.
  • Technical Design: At least 5 years of experience identifying server requirements and planning the design and deployment of new technologies and upgrades.
  • Operating Systems: At least 5 years of experience with Windows Server 2016 and later, encompassing configuration, implementation, and security.
  • Leadership: Minimum of 3 years of management or team lead experience.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an area related to the labor category from an accredited college or university, or an Associate degree with 7 years of intelligence experience or a High School Diploma with 9 years of intelligence experience.
  • Current DoDD 8140.01 (formerly 8570.01-M) IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA Cloud+, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Windows Server 2012/2016 Certification.

Additional Requirements

  • DTA Status: Successful candidates must become a certified Data Transfer Agent (DTA) within 30 days of in-processing.
  • Polygraph: Must be eligible and willing to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination at the government's discretion.
  • Travel: May be required to travel to other government or contractor facilities; OCONUS travel requires a valid U.S. unrestricted passport.
