Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently receive, process, and distribute laboratory specimens from inpatients, outpatients, and outside clients in Microbiology.
- Maintain proficiency in laboratory and hospital information systems.
- Perform and result waived and non-waived testing.
- Process primary culture specimens by inoculating various growth media, preparing slides for gram smear, and packaging specimens and inoculated cultures for transport to the reference lab.
- Act as a liaison between the laboratory and nurses, pharmacists, physicians, other healthcare providers, and the reference laboratory.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
