About the role
This position is available part-time with benefits eligibility and is located at Department 60344 WI ACL Laboratories - WI Central Lab: Microbiology. The role is Benefits Eligible and operates on a 24-hour schedule with a 2:30pm - 11:00pm shift, including a 1 in 3 weekend and holiday rotation.
Major Responsibilities
- Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when indicated.
- Maintains and adjusts workflow to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Evaluates test results for clinical significance, validity, and appropriateness.
- Follows established policies for reporting and notifying test results.
- Calibrates, maintains, and repairs laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Monitors and corrects malfunctions in test and instrument performance.
- Documents and reviews quality control and assurance measures.
- Ensures proper specimen labeling and collection according to protocols.
- Directs, trains, and assists medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff.
- Develops and implements educational and training programs.
- Improves laboratory procedures, policies, and processes.
- Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supports critical care departments during high acuity events.
Requirements
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC).
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or a related field.

- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- Flexibility to work a flexible schedule, including alternate sites.
- Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, radioactive, and infectious agents.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.

Pay
$30.70 - $46.05 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
2:30pm - 11:00pm, with a 1 in 3 weekend and holiday rotation.
