About the role
As a Microbiology Lab Technician, you will conduct analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples using approved techniques to ensure quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
- Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
- Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing.
- Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
- Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
- Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, and running media controls.
- Independently pursue an assigned series of processes and procedures in accordance with policies/procedures and customer requirements.
- Maintain laboratory conditions, including equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures.
- Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
- Share information in an open and timely manner.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques.
- Experience in microbiology, biology, chemistry, and quality control.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Degree in the Sciences is preferred but not required.
- Candidates with laboratory or quality experience without a degree will be considered.
Schedule
Tuesday to Saturday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
Pay
Pay range: $19.50–$19.50 per hour. Individual compensation depends on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.

After a 90-day review period, consultants with good attendance, no call-ins, no quality errors, and completed training will receive a pay increase.
