General Function

This position is responsible for taking orders from customers over the telephone or counter, checking orders for accuracy, and providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service.

Reporting Relations

• Accountable and Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home; Food Service Director; Mia Italian Department Manager
• Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
• Greets customers with a smile and addresses them by name
• Assists customers with product retrieval and loading/unloading
• Passes along customer suggestions or requests
• Answers the telephone and takes customer orders
• Works with co-workers to maintain a pleasant work environment
• Ensures the work area is clean and neat
• Pre-bakes pizza crust and prepares product as necessary
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

• Orders product as requested by the department manager
• Pulls old product from the case and replaces with new product
• Assists in other areas of the store as needed
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Worker Characteristics

• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
• Ability to write identifying information

Education And Experience

• High school or equivalent experience
• Six months or less of similar or related experience

Physical Requirements

• Physically able to exert up to 20-25 pounds of force occasionally
• Physically able to exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently
• Physically able to exert a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
• Visual requirements include vision from 20 inches or less to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, and field of vision
• Able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions

• Occasionally exposed to cleaning chemicals/solvents
• Fast-paced work environment with significant pressure
