MHC After 3 Youth Mentor

Serving Martinsville, Henry County, Patrick County, and the southern portion of Franklin County, P&HCC offers associate degrees, certificate programs, career studies certificates, and nontraditional programs such as workforce development training, industry certifications, and personal enrichment courses.
About the Role
Mentors are responsible for serving as highly engaged youth mentors who actively engage and educate middle and high school participants in interactive experiences that contribute positively to youth development. Mentors create and support safe, healthy, and conducive learning environments.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with instructors to facilitate and guide daily program activities.
- Assist in gathering and entering student participation, development, and achievement data for program evaluation.
- Be a fun, positive, and motivating presence in the lives of program participants.
- Contribute ideas, energy, and efforts to building MHC After 3 partnerships, activities, and public will.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in state emergencies.
- Potential for travel on field trips.
Requirements
- Interest in providing positive youth mentoring experiences for middle and high school youth.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer operating systems, data management, spreadsheet, internet, and email applications.
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
Pay
$13 per hour
Schedule
Part-time, Monday–Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
