Mgr, IT Development
About the role
As Manager of IT Development at Space Coast Credit Union’s Miramar Operations Center, you will oversee the IT Application Development team, responsible for developing and enhancing software applications that enable SCCU to conduct business while ensuring end users receive best-in-class technical experiences. This hybrid role requires two days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Manage resources, workload, and delivery of software applications for both custom-built and vendor-provided systems.
- Develop, maintain, and execute an IT roadmap that forecasts and meets business needs.
- Understand stakeholder requirements and provide technical solutions that address software application needs.
- Manage and execute project plans to deliver commitments with quality, within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Work with project management to provide accurate status updates, anticipate and mitigate risks, and escalate issues promptly.
- Staff projects with appropriate technical talent, track progress, and provide guidance to remove impediments and meet milestones.
- Drive continuous improvement by using metrics and team feedback to enhance engineering practices, processes, and delivery.
- Provide coaching, technical direction, supervision, and development for the IT Application Development team.
- Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to set objectives, review workload and performance, and support career development goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated project management experience leading or supervising systems/applications development teams using SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile (Kanban, Scrum).
- Experience overseeing the technology lifecycle from requirements analysis through support.
- Proficiency designing scalable, reliable, and performant software using the Microsoft Stack (.NET framework, MVC, ASP.NET, VB.Net, C#, React or Angular/Blazor, ASPX, WPF, WinForms), JSON, XML, SOAP, and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle).
- Ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams and navigate multiple competing priorities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle with a track record of delivering software on time.
- Passion for people management and mentorship.
Education & Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
- ITIL certification is strongly preferred.
Prior Experience
- 8–10 years of related experience required.
- 5 years of experience working directly within engineering teams.
- 3+ years of managing teams within a development organization.
- 5+ years developing and building scalable enterprise software.
- 3 years of demonstrated leadership capabilities in a management role of IT professionals within a software development/engineering environment.
- Preferred experience managing both onshore and offshore development teams.
Compensation
- Starting compensation: $153,830 – $162,917 annually.
- Eligible for one SCCU Annual Bonus.
