About the role

As the Global Architecture Data Connectivity Leader at TE Connectivity, you will define, govern, and execute the global system architecture strategy for the Data Connectivity segment. This role bridges long-term architecture, platforms, connectivity technologies, and data flow direction with near-term customer engagement, structured promotion activities, and Voice of Customer (VoC). You will position the company as a system partner rather than a component supplier.

You will serve as the global subject matter expert for the ICT business in Data Connectivity, creating a network with key stakeholders on the customer side, owning the system architecture strategy, governance, and roadmap, and leading a global architecture and system engineering team. Your responsibilities will include structured promotion activities, VoC capture, and feedback loops into Product Management and R&D, as well as mapping out future connectivity architectures and network topologies.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture Strategy & Governance (Long-term):
    • Build a high-performing System Architecture team, including structuring the team and hiring key talent for the Data Connectivity market segment.
    • Define and own the system architecture mapping of current and future connectivity architectures to enable Product Management and Engineering to understand future technology and product needs.
    • Drive architectural sharing and consistency across regions, product lines, and customer programs.
    • Translate future customer connectivity and data architectures into technology and product requirements, leading into Advanced and Product roadmap projects, as well as potential FTAM and/or M&A activities in collaboration with Business Development.
  • Customer & Market Influence:
    • Act as the senior technical interface to key global OEMs and Tier 1 customers.
    • Elevate discussions from product level to system, platform, and architecture level.
    • Represent the company in industry forums, standardization committees, and technical congresses.
    • Strengthen the external perception of the company as a thought leader in system architecture.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment:
    • Partner closely with Product Management, R&D, and Sales.
    • Host regular cross-functional and cross-BU workshops.
    • Serve as a technical partner to Sales and Product Management to enable competitive roadmap development.
    • Bridge cross-regional and cross-BU alignment and drive best practice sharing.
    • Convert VoC and architecture insights into:
      • Architecture mappings by product/architecture segment (TAM / PAM / CPV).
      • Future Technology & Product Requirements.
      • Product and Technology Platform definitions.
      • Roadmap (Advanced Roadmap & Product Roadmap) and investment proposals.
    • Support portfolio decisions, technology prioritization, and (where applicable) technical due diligence for M&A.
  • Organization & Talent Leadership:
    • Build, lead, and develop a global System Architecture organization for Data Connectivity.
    • Define roles, competencies, and career paths across team members.
    • Coach senior technical leaders and successors.
    • Promote a culture of systems thinking, customer relevance, and execution discipline.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years' experience in product management, engineering, or architecture roles.
  • Proven experience working in global organizations in complex, matrix environments.
  • Strong background in vehicle or industrial system architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic horizon planning with short-term business execution.

Preferred Experience

  • Commercial vehicles, automotive, off-highway, or industrial systems.
  • Exposure to data connectivity, networked systems, data architectures, edge connectivity, or platform strategies.
  • Experience working with global OEMs and multi-regional sales/FAE organizations.
