About the role

The role is remote and based in the USA. The ideal candidate must reside in California and be able to travel to Tustin, CA. as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create policy and build processes specific to employee relations matters that lead to establishing a discipline that is value-driven and successful within the HR function.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on employee relations, employee claims, and immigration coordination while maintaining required information into appropriate databases, entering required information within 3 business days of receipt.
  • Collaborate and support reporting, audit, compliance, and data integrity initiatives effectively and efficiently within cross-functional teams while consulting with various departments, including Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, Leave Administration, Visa and Immigration Firm, as needed.
  • Facilitate conversations, counsels, advises, and works with all levels of leadership and employees to identify and resolve work-related matters in order to improve workforce performance, support high-performing team(s), and drive effectiveness which results in accountability and problem resolution.
  • Interpret and communicate CMSU policies and procedures in a clear and consistent way to employees, advising of their rights while staying updated of state and federal laws.
  • Build effective partnerships with client groups to gain an understanding of the work performed and challenges faced by the customer (internal and external customers) to provide best qualified new hires and retention initiatives.
  • Utilize data from surveys, reports, and other means to identify trends to proactively address concerns/challenges with supervisors/managers.
  • Aid supervisors/managers in articulating the facts that support the need for disciplinary action. Review all requests for disciplinary actions ensuring information contained is factual and supports the action being taken. Ensure information being communicated is written in a manner that is clear and understandable by the employee.
  • Improve & optimize ongoing processes, workflows, and tools by resolving and/or triaging issues as appropriate while identifying automation opportunities in existing workflows.
  • Deliver superior value to all employees, especially those adapting to hybrid and remote work environments, while being a champion of CMSU values.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of HR office administration and documentation procedures.
  • Attention to detail, proficiency in establishing priorities, meeting deadlines, and project management.
  • Proficiency using a variety of computer/software applications and reporting functions especially in Excel and Microsoft Word software.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, phone, oral, and written communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to be personally welcoming and handle confidential situations with credibility.
  • Calm and patient demeanor when handling difficult interactions.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress and high-volume environments.
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to a changing/growing work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with orientation on results.
  • Ability to be comfortable with a high-volume workload and willing to "roll up your sleeves."
  • Excellent ability to communicate via telephone, virtually, and personal contact with all levels of internal and external personnel and organizations to obtain or provide information and explain facts, policies, and procedures relating to resolution of problems of a recurring but non-routine nature.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating, influencing, and leading strong business acumen to drive HR priorities, objectives, and action by leading as a change agent, assessing current situation, anticipating challenges, analyzing data, writing reports, interpreting policies and procedures, and organizing resources to meet goals.
  • Demonstrate experience applying independent judgment on employee relations issues, performance management, and other related matters by effectively providing advice, problem resolution, and facilitation to close actions on-time and successfully.
  • Ability to go from "cradle to grave" while providing a productive process and support throughout its life cycle.

Qualifications

  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related field required.
  • 10+ years HR experience, including time as HR Business Partner/Specialist and Employee Relations.

Pay

Min $132,600 to Max $213,400 DOE.
