About the Role
The Commercial Development Manager leads a team that analyzes, negotiates, and implements opportunities supporting approved strategies. This role handles the negotiation and administration of oil, gas, and NGL gathering, processing, and transportation contracts while seeking new business and investment opportunities to drive profitable growth of existing assets. Success requires sophisticated negotiation skills, market and competitive data analysis, and cultivating strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Identifies, coordinates, and pursues opportunities to grow the business and improve profitability.
- Leads the negotiation and administration of oil, gas, and NGL gathering, processing, transportation, and fractionation contracts.
- Seeks new business and investment opportunities to generate profitable growth of existing company assets.
- Creates and customizes sophisticated contracts and renewals, developing mutually beneficial solutions for Williams and customers.
- Understands all components of a deal structure and evaluates risk/reward potential, including cost, rate of return, and other deal terms.
- Communicates Williams’ market perspectives to customers and maintains proactive, regular interaction with customer leadership to build and nurture relationships.
- Coordinates workforce planning and career development for direct employees.
- Negotiates production handling agreements and gas/oil gathering agreements for offshore facilities.
- Handles complex negotiations for gas sales contracts within federal regulations.
- Collects and analyzes market, industry, and competitive data.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering (required).
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of commercial experience (required).
- Master’s degree in a business field (preferred).
- Familiarity with Gulf Coast and offshore pipeline infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of natural gas processing economics.
- Knowledge of the offshore lease sale process.
- Experience with regulated and non-regulated offshore pipeline operations.
- Experience negotiating capital reimbursement and interconnect agreements.
- Previous supervisory experience (preferred).
Skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as a top priority.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills.
- Strong understanding of economics, marketing practices, and contracting.
- Deep knowledge of the energy industry.
- Strong negotiation, leadership, and people development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement business strategy.
Schedule
Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time as needed.
