About the Role
This position leads the daily operations of the Claims business unit, overseeing employees, workflows, and service delivery to ensure efficient and accurate claims processing. The role focuses on improving operational performance, maintaining quality standards, and supporting strategic initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and business results.
The role combines people leadership, operational analysis, process improvement, and resource management to ensure the Claims organization consistently meets performance and service objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations and staff within the Claims business unit
- Analyze operational data and prepare activity, performance, and trend reports
- Support strategic and tactical planning to achieve departmental goals
- Review and resolve complex claims-related operational issues
- Streamline processes to improve service turnaround, productivity, and quality
- Coordinate workflows and resources to optimize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Implement risk management and quality improvement initiatives
- Facilitate calibration sessions and apply established quality standards
- Monitor industry trends and incorporate relevant best practices
- Coordinate training initiatives and identify employee development needs
- Forecast staffing requirements and support employee coaching and performance development
- Identify and recommend technology enhancements to improve claims operations
- Lead assigned initiatives and participate in company-wide projects
- Monitor operating expenses and contribute to budget planning and cost-control efforts
- Coordinate with legal counsel regarding claims-related proceedings
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in leadership, senior-level, or supervisory roles
- Knowledge of production management and claims processing principles
- Understanding of insurance industry regulatory requirements
- Experience with budgeting and expense control
- Strong employee relations and people management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in claims administration or a related insurance function
- Professional designation in insurance or a related field
Pay
Annual salary range of $90,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
