MFT Parent Partner

About the role

The MiFamily Together (MFT) Parent Partner is an individual who has previously worked with children and families in child protective services or foster care, successfully closing cases. This role involves promoting engagement in case activities via regular contact methods and supporting families to thrive.

Responsibilities

• Work with parents to engage in case activities via weekly phone, video, or face-to-face contacts.
• Attend training as required within the program and agency.
• Coach parents on the child welfare process and help maintain connections between parents and children.
• Assist parents in building protective factors and connecting them to community resources.
• Support families by attending meetings and facilitating support groups.
• Transport adults or children with parent(s) present as needed.

Requirements

• A previously opened CPS or foster care case with successful case closure.
• A stable family situation without current CPS substantiation for safety issues.
• No confirmed child abuse reports during the role of Parent Partner.
• Flexibility to attend meetings and facilitate groups including non-standard work hours.
• Participation in mandated training(s), supervision, and team meetings.
• A willingness to share parenting experiences as a learning tool.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and personal auto insurance.
• A flexible schedule based on client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of prior work experience working with children and/or families is preferred.
• Education: None required.

• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse families.
• Knowledge of child welfare systems and best practices.

Benefits

MiFamily Together offers a wage range of up to $20.79/hour based on relevant life and work experience.

Schedule

This position is primarily office based, but may require occasional travel to other Agency offices.
