Mfg Engineering Technician

About the role

Create and modify product models and drawings
Prepare drawings and sketches using CAD Software.
Work closely with other Designers, Technical Specialists, Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure coordination of engineering designs.
Prepare preliminary sketches and models reflecting design concepts
Recommends technical changes or modifications as needed
Provide CNC programming as needed for new and special parts
Modify design features as required to improve manufacturability according to processes
Build prototypes for concept evaluation
Carry out Tolerance analysis with direction from engineer
Prepares Product Drawings and Fabrication Drawings
Prepares Assembly Drawings of Jigs and Fixtures
Provides assistance with the building of product “specials”
Aids in writing, releasing, and distributing Engineering Change Notices

Qualifications

• Educational requirement: Associate degree in Drafting/Design Technology (or related field) and 2-5 years of work-related experience, or equivalent knowledge with 2-5 years of work-related experience.
• Experience: 2-5 years of work-related experience.
• Skills: Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access). AutoCAD experience required, Solid Edge experience preferred, CNC programming experience a plus.
