Metrology Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate measurements of complex molded rubber components using advanced programmable optical measuring systems.
• Perform day-to-day metrology functions by following established standard operating procedures.
• Interpret and apply metrology programs.
• Support tasks, process all documentation, and prepare dimensional reports.

Must Have

• An excellent mechanical aptitude with dimensional tolerance.
• Ability to interpret and use engineering drawings/schematics and understanding of GD&T.
• Experience with engineering drawings and schematics.
• Ability to determine the most appropriate measurement method based on part tolerances, and other GD&T.
• Ability to produce dimensional reports, collect & analyze data, and understand statistical process control rules.
• Some knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis.
• Some experience with operation of semi-automated measurement equipment (MicroVu and OGP systems).
• Ability to interpret charts, graphs, and data.
• Possess integrity, a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, a high degree of self-motivation, and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to function in a team environment.
• Understanding of shop mathematics (basic math required and trigonometry, geometry preferred).
• Excellent Communication skills (Oral and Written).
• Excellent Computer skills (Microsoft Office, specifically Excel).
• Ability to use basic functions of Minitab software.
• Good to have initiative, computer literacy, eagerness to learn, 3-6 months training for position.

Salary Range

$24.50/hour
