Metrology Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Metrology Specialist to support Tooling, Production, R&D, and Flight Test operations with a focus on measurement activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional measurement and verification of tooling, fixtures, jigs, and aircraft components using advanced metrology equipment such as laser trackers, scanners, and arms.
• Analyze measurement data to ensure conformance to engineering drawings, aerodynamic specifications, and CAD models.
• Create detailed inspection reports for engineering and production teams.
• Develop measurement strategies and maintain calibration and operational readiness of metrology tools.
• Support tooling build, assembly, and adjustment activities; assist with fixture setup, alignment, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop practical measurement solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical degree or equivalent hands-on metrology experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Experience with portable metrology tools and tooling measurement support.
• Proficiency in metrology software (e.g., Verisurf, GOM) and GD&T principles; GDTP certification preferred.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models, with experience in CATIA V5 advantageous.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort with manual measurement tools and basic tooling tasks.

Working Conditions

Physical ability to handle items up to 50 lbs and work in various environments with noise, heat, or odors. Stand, sit, squat, climb, and move as needed, following all safety regulations. Effective communication in Business English and adherence to safety standards required.
