Metering Project Manager

Alutiiq Solutions, LLC is excited to offer an opportunity for a Metering Project Manager to support the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA).

About the role

The Metering Project Manager will perform project management tasks for WAPA’s Rocky Mountain Region (RMR) metering program, coordinating with Field Maintenance personnel, WAPA’s operations Engineering/Balancing Authority, and Power Marketing teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly status reports for assigned projects impacting Western Area Colorado Missouri and Western Area Loveland Colorado Balancing Authorities.
• Notify Power Operations, Power Marketing, Transmission Services, and Maintenance divisions’ VPs of project status changes.
• Assist with project execution within planned and approved budgets and schedules.
• Use project management tools such as the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBK).
• Provide technical writing and documentation.
• Work with bulk electric system principles, including generator and transmission interconnections, metering drawing reviews, and technical interpretations.
• Apply Federal budgeting, accounting, and procurement practices.
• Understand and adhere to WAPA’s project management order and manual.
• Support development of WAPA policies and procedures using federal guidance.
• Review power and transmission contracts, coordinating with Power Marketing, Power Operations, Transmission Services, and Maintenance divisions.
• Provide electronic and hard-copy documentation for projects and operations involving hardware, software, and government-developed software.
• Update and index documents related to metering projects.
• Coordinate project planning and activities, creating weekly, monthly status reports, and project summaries.
• Support audits by providing documentation and responding to questions.
• Assist with procurement actions, DOE reporting, and human resource activities.
• Create, maintain, and deliver technical training as needed.

Requirements

• Program Manager certificates required.
