Meter Systems Administrator
About the role
This position is responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Water Metering Department. Key duties include monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting metering systems, coordinating workflows, and providing customer support related to meter data.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and trouble shoot metering systems including MDMS, CIS, AMI, and MWMS
- Coordinate Water Metering Division workflows, ensuring accurate meter information and data analytics
- Validate and process AMI water meter readings and usage for billing
- Support audits, data reviews, and process improvements related to water metering operations
- Manage meter inventory records and ancillary meter information
- Assist with evaluating department policies and procedures
- Oversee special projects as directed
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
- One year experience in electric and water utilities billing, reading meters, or related field
Qualifications
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local Government laws, ordinances, and regulations. Skill in problem solving, providing exceptional service, and establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships. Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms, and handle confidential situations with professionalism. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with composure and confidentiality. Ability to work independently and/or with teams, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize changing priorities with attention to detail. Ability to motivate, mentor, and train through direct and indirect influence. Ability to develop, understand, interpret, and apply rules, policies, procedures, processes, and operations. Must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and state required minimum automobile liability insurance.
Skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products and other software systems
- Skilled in using standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds
