Meter Reader

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform meter reads on commercial electrical, water, and gas meters
• Clear photos of meters must be taken
• Note and/or inform management of any issues or changes that occur
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures such as wearing Personal Protective Equipment and reporting all safety concerns
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or technical background preferred
• Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: Valid Driver’s License, with a clean driving record, the ability to pass a pre-employment background check
• Personal vehicle will be used for travel to different sites. Mileage reimbursement will be provided at the standard IRS rate (72.5 cents per mile as of January 1, 2026)
• Basic proficiency with smart phone applications & internet
• Able to read all types of meters
• Communicates clearly and professionally

• Maintain composure in challenging situations
• Manage multiple tasks, effective time management, takes accountability for own performance
• Strong attention to detail, ensure work product is accurate and correct

• Occasionally exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
• Frequently work near moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally work in high, precarious places
• Frequently exposure to outside weather conditions
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 20 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
