WOWT in Omaha, NE, is seeking an experienced Meteorologist to join our First Alert Weather team.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Analyze weather data and prepare detailed forecasts
• Create graphics to support the weather presentation
• Be flexible with a schedule for severe weather & winter weather scenarios
• Work closely with news management in designing presentation style and editorial content for weather presentations
• Develop and report weather stories
• Prepare material for delivery of newscasts
• Post content to website, apps, and social media platforms

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in meteorology
• Prior experience as a broadcast meteorologist
• Strong on-air communication skills
• Ability to work as part of an on-air team and part of a weather team
• Knowledge of WSI Max and their various platforms is a plus
• Ability to be creative with graphic design and presentation
• Demonstrated ability to accurately forecast weather
• Proficient in social media platforms
