METEOROLOGIST (W/END) - WFIE

Duties/Responsibilities

• Anchor weekend shows (Sat 6-10, Sun 5-10)
• Update 14news.com at least twice each day
• App updates and social media posts
• Create weather storytelling content and graphics for all platforms
• Absorb and assist other Meteorologists during severe coverage
• Fill in for weekday Meteorologists as needed
• Work closely with the weather team to create content for the weather blog and social media
• Provide daily streaming weather updates as assigned
• Create revenue-generating content and ideas
• Make school and community appearances on behalf of the station

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field
• 1-2 years reporting experience/live reporting, preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent news writing and visual storytelling ability
• Familiarity with digital video cameras, non-linear editing, and Social Media platforms
• Ability to lift 35-40lbs of gear
• Valid Driver's License
