Job Summary/Description
- Present live weathercasts during weekend evening and weekday midday newscasts
- Produce forecasts and breaking-weather updates for streaming and digital platforms
- Create engaging weather content for web, app, and social (short videos, explainers, alerts)
- Collaborate with the newsroom to support severe weather and wall-to-wall coverage
Duties/Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
- Present live weathercasts during weekend evening and weekday midday newscasts
- Produce forecasts and breaking-weather updates for streaming and digital platforms
- Create engaging weather content for web, app, and social (short videos, explainers, alerts)
- Collaborate with the newsroom to support severe weather and wall-to-wall coverage
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in meteorology, broadcast meteorology, or atmospheric sciences
- Experience using the The Weather Company (WSI) Max computer system
- Experience using the Baron Lynx is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of TV weather experience, although WBAY will consider strong recent graduates
- The ability to get an AMS/CBM or NWA broadcast seal is also a plus
