Metallurgical Lab Supervisor/Metallurgist

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Metallurgical leader responsible for the efficient operation of the powder metal lab. This includes a deep understanding of lab processes and product, metallurgical specifications and customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Oversee daily operations of the powder metal lab
• Ensure compliance with metallurgical specifications and customer requirements
• Manage inventory and supplies
• Train and mentor lab technicians
• Develop and implement new processes and technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve efficiency

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Strong knowledge of metallurgical principles and practices
• Experience with powder metal processing and heat treatment
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in a laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and fumes
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
