About the role
We are currently seeking a Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineer with an expertise in coatings for our Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineering Practice in Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Conducting hands-on failure analyses
- Materials characterization, coatings testing, metallurgical analysis
- Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory testing
- Conducting field inspections
- Generating written work product (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, long-form written technical reports)
- Effective presentation of results to technical and non-technical clients and staff
- Managing the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g. SEM, CT, X-ray, EDS, FTIR, etc.) is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
- The ability to travel as-needed
- Knowledge of coatings technology and failure analysis desired
- Knowledge of materials degradation including corrosion desired
Skills
