What You’ll Do
- Develop computational methods to optimize metabolic flux through sugar polymer biosynthesis pathways.
- Create experimental workflows to perform fermentation and collect data.
- Collaborate frequently with the Synthetic Biology and Polymer Chemistry teams to optimize sugar polymer biosynthesis pathways in the production strains.
- Communicate methods and results both internally with the team and externally with other scientists, industry executives, and academic researchers.
- Contribute to the generation and documentation of intellectual property
Who You Are
- Passionate about sustainability
- Excited to be part of a fast-paced startup
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Chemical or Biological Engineering, Fermentation, or related fields
- 3+ years of research experience in an academic or industry lab setting
- Skilled in fermentation, and computational methods such as FBA, COBRA, and OptFlux
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Metabolomic data analysis expertise
- Experience in synthetic biology and sugar polymer biosynthesis is a plus
