About the role

This position is part of the Advisor Development Program, designed for individuals transitioning into a career as a Financial Advisor. You will work with high-net-worth clients in a Merrill branch generating annual revenues of $100k–$5mm. Responsibilities include identifying client needs, developing relationships, reviewing investment goals, and preparing tailored investment recommendations. The role may involve residential mortgage loan origination, requiring SAFE Act registration and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored and personalized advice to clients through reviews and presentations, partnering with management to assess financial goals and recommend investment strategies.
  • Identify client solutions best suited for their financial needs, including core Banking and Investment and Life Priority™ solutions.
  • Shadow Financial Advisor teams to build your network, share market developments, and discuss new products to promote portfolio growth.
  • Leverage available resources and technologies to optimize the customer experience and ensure operational excellence.
  • Participate in ongoing training to develop a book of business, meet financial targets, and progress to the next phase as an advisor.
  • Build relationships with internal service providers based on client needs and asset thresholds.
  • Proactively manage risk in all business, product, and service transactions using available tools.

Requirements

  • Currently holds FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE).
  • 4+ years of progressive professional and/or military experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in the investments industry.
  • Ability to obtain Series 7 and 66 licenses within the program’s allotted timeframe.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial services industry and/or a sales environment with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to multitask in a demanding environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a business-related field.
  • Proven ability to partner and promote lead generation.
  • Experience balancing investment management, sales activities, and new client development.
  • Additional professional designations such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and/or Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC).
  • Obtained insurance licenses.
