Position Overview

As part of the talented Advanced Manufacturing team / Global Operations Excellence division, you will get to work on: CAD Modeling, Simulation, 3D Printing, ETL/Data Analytics and BI tools, and Robotics and Automation. This position will be integral in supporting manufacturing engineering technologies across different operational plants. Candidate needs to be self-starter with passion for manufacturing and the ability to work on multiple projects at once.

Essential Functions

  • Work with full-time team members located in multiple operational plants, assisting with projects and analysis
  • Collaborate with Management, Manufacturing, Automation, Quality, and Process Engineers across the business
  • Interact and program various types of automation equipment like robots, PLC's, servos
  • Connect, collect, and analyze data from different types of operational equipment
  • Exposure to and assist with various types of Simulation work
  • Work with tools like Power BI, SQL, MS Azure Suite, CAD

Learning Opportunities

  • Understand manufacturing systems and the technical problems that exist in operations
  • Understand Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and Connected Operations (Industry 4.0, IIoT, Machine Learning) implemented in a highly vertically integrated manufacturing environment
  • Present findings and recommendations to operational management
  • Interpret manufacturing prints and quality requirements
  • Analyze data and make recommendations that effectively improve process costs
  • Effectively express your ideas, influence people and communicate with employees at all levels of an organization (hourly and salary)

Required Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a BS program with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science or a relevant degree with an Engineering or Data Emphasis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to learn
  • Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits
  • Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) through a full co-op term running May to December 2027
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Permanent US Work Authorization required

Pay

The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on multiple factors including year in school/credits earned, degree, job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
