Merchandising Manager

Job Summary

Aid in leading a team of category merchandisers focused on revenue and margin growth in specific product categories. Responsibilities include vendor management, product mix, pricing, logistics, and marketing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, and Quality Assurance to align inventory, product quality, and customer demand with business objectives and profitability goals.
• Analyze category performance, market trends, inventory metrics, and sales data to develop merchandising strategies.
• Identify growth opportunities, optimize product assortments, and execute category initiatives to increase market share and business performance.
• Lead and inspire the team to deliver high-quality category strategies.
• Foster teamwork within the department and cultivate a positive work environment.
• Support strategy development and category financial forecasting with Category Merchandisers.
• Provide analytics and reporting on top suppliers and make recommendations for category improvements.
• Participate in strategic supplier meetings and assist in marketing, communication, and promotional activities.
• Manage category management activities and projects, set priorities, timelines, and results reporting.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials for merchandising.
• Manage the supplier rebate table and forecast with accounting.
• Coordinate merchandising training programs for the organization.
• Transfer knowledge from category management initiatives to improve sales and profitability.
• Handle customer service/sales issues as needed.
• Stay updated on contracts, competitive programs, and changes in the supply base.
• Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, logistics, IT, and accounting to support company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business
• 3 years’ experience in online merchandising
• Leadership qualities and ability to coach and supervise
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Negotiation skills
• 3 years of planning and/or management experience
• Intermediate to Microsoft skills: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project management software
• Professional Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, strong communication skills (written and verbal), independent thinker, attention to detail, excellent people skills, ability to establish
