Merchandiser

About the role

The Merchandiser will work primarily in retail locations to ensure Ben E. Keith products are properly represented and competitively positioned. This position will engage in effective merchandising activities including building retail displays, hanging promotional signs, and communicating the value of our brands to consumers and retail personnel.

Responsibilities

• Engage in effective merchandising activities including building retail displays, hanging promotional signs, and engaging with consumers and retail personnel to communicate the value of our brands.
• Rotate product and fill all coolers, displays, and hot shelves.
• Build healthy business relationships and establish good communication with retail customers.
• Work collaboratively with customers to establish their needs and design solutions that fulfill those needs.
• Promote Ben E. Keith brands at retail through promotions, consumer education, and merchandising.
• Identify merchandising opportunities at account and make recommendations to customers.
• Maintain the "Look of the Leader" by executing placement of signage and other merchandising material to ensure maximum brand visibility in all assigned retail accounts.
• Remain aware of and execute basic marketing activity as it relates to sales channels (i.e. ad features, out-of-stocks, retailer policies and concerns).
• Regularly replace merchandising material at customer accounts to coincide with marketing programs.
• Ensure maximum visibility of Ben E. Keith products at account (beer shelves, beer caves, displays, etc.) and that products are priced appropriately.
• Organize and refill back stock, coolers, beer shelves and displays.
• Maintain designated back stock area at customer location; ensure area is organized and free of trash.
• Monitor and rotate stock regularly to maintain product freshness standards in assigned retail accounts.
• Communicate all sales and merchandising opportunities or challenges (product placements, out of stocks, out of code), as well as any competitive activity, to Manager.
• Project a friendly, professional image at all times.
• Prioritize multiple, competing priorities.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Operate all company equipment safely and in a manner consistent with company policy.
• Report any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to coordinate multiple activities and follow through with commitments.
• Good oral and written communication skills and participate well in a team environment.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Able to move products weighing up to 165 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.
• Must have a valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be 18 years or older to apply.
