Mercantile Supervisor - Restaurant and Bar

About the Role

Responsible for the business performance of the establishment. Uses past performance, market conditions, and strategic planning to forecast supply and demand. Coordinates all activities including management, customer relations, and marketing to ensure efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
• Set annual budgets and manage costs, while developing cost-saving strategies to increase profit.
• Devise systems, set policy, and implement changes to uphold quality standards.
• Provide training and leadership to staff, including team building and performance management.
• Recruit and hire new staff, create schedules, and track attendance.
• Investigate and resolve service complaints and enforce disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality control.
• Prepare end-of-day financial reports and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of supervisor or lead experience.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written instructions in English.
• Effective communication in English regarding job procedures and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment.
• Availability for flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to meet operating policies and standards including cash handling and safety.
• Strong customer engagement and communication skills.
• Compliance with dress code standards.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks during each shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Food Handlers Certification.
• Knowledge of current trends in the Coffee industry.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply marketing practices.
• Knowledge and ability to supervise employees.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling, and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift.
• Competency in the use of MS Office Software.

Location

Morenci operations, an open-pit copper mining complex located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, has been in continuous operation since 1939. Pay

The estimated annual pay range for this role is $48,500-$66,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.

Schedule

Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation. Availability for flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays is required.
