About the role

The Electrical Designer/Engineer works in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment. They focus on designing building-related projects, such as apartment buildings, retail/commercial spaces, hospitals, and educational facilities, using Revit and AutoCAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical distribution and emergency generator system designs and documentation in AutoCAD/Revit.
  • Understand and design lighting systems, electrical, and fire alarm systems.
  • Perform electrical load calculations and select and size equipment.
  • Edit electrical system specifications.
  • Survey existing buildings and identify electrical systems and components.
  • Review submittals of equipment for compliance with the contract documents.
  • Observe and report upon electrical construction work in progress.
  • Interact with project team members and leaders.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology program (or similar), is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in design of electrical systems for various types of facilities.
  • Design experience in commercial, residential, and institutional projects.
  • Hands-on experience with latest versions of AutoCAD and REVIT, MS Office, Outlook, and engineering calculation and performance simulation software.
