About the role
The Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Tech is a key role to keep patients engaged in recovery-oriented activities, communicate patient needs to the clinical team, monitor patient safety, and work with nursing professionals to create a healing environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.
- Observes patient behavior.
- Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs.
- Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks.
- Provides group and individual interventions to assist psychiatric patients towards recovery and rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- Experience: Broad practical understanding of life experiences and ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals. Prior experience in psychiatric setting a plus.
- Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality, and good problem-solving skills.
